Observatorio Hannah Arendt
Observatorio Espacio Antitotalitario Hannah Arendt a Venezuelan think tank with links to the UK Euston Manifesto, through its founder Heinz Sonntag, who was a signatory. In the lead up to the 2006 Presidential Elections in Venezuela, the group published statistics claiming Hugo Chavez and the opposition candidate Manuel Rosales were running neck-to-neck.[1] Set up at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), most of its membership comes form Teodoro Petkoff's MAS movement. The raison d'etre of the think tanks is purportedly to fight the 'fascist' and 'totalitarian' tendencies of the Hugo Chavez government.[2]
