Norman MacKenzie

Norman MacKenzie (1921-2013) was an Assistant Editor of the New Statesman in the 1940s. A member of the Independent Labour Party and then the Communist Party of Great Britain before joining the Labour Party, he was included in a list of potential subversives given by George Orwell to the Information Research Department. In fact, however, MacKenzie had been working for MI6.
