Military Intervention and Ethical State Craft was the name of a £36,000 research grant given to the University of Exeter by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). According to a report in the Guardian, part of the research grant was used to pay for a visit to the University by the former US undersecretary of defence for intelligence, Stephen Cambone, who was wanted for war crimes in relation to the abuse of prisoners.
