Martin Selmayr (born 1970, Bonn) joined the European Commission's Group of Spokesmen for Information Society and Media (Commissioner Viviane Reding) on 01 November 2004.[1]

Background of Conflicts

Prior to joining the Commission, Selmayr worked as a legal advisor at the international media firm Bertelsmann with special focus on audiovisual, telecommunications and competition law issues (2001-2004). In 2003 he became Head of the Brussels Office and Vice President of Government and Legal Relations of Bertelsmann AG.[2]
