Lynda Hamlyn

Lynda Hamlyn has been a longstanding server to the NHS and healthcare in the UK, having joined the NHS in 1986 as director of services for North Hertfordshire Health Authority, she went on to be chief executive of NHS Blood and Transplant between 2008 and 2014 having previously been the chief executive of Westminster Primary Care Trust. [1]

In July 2012, Hamlyn became the first woman to be elected to the executive board of the European Blood Alliance whilst in December 2013 she was named chief executive of the Year at the annual Health Service Journal Awards. [2]

Due to a successful career in the NHS that has spanned over 20 years, Hamlyn received a CBE in the 2014 New Year's Honours for her services to Healthcare. [3]

Affiliations

Hamlyn is also on the board of the UK Associate Parliamentary Health Group.
