Lorely Burt
Lorely Burt was the Liberal Democrats MP for Solihull from 2005 to 2015. She lost the election to the Conservative Party's Julian Knight by 12,902 votes.[1]
She was appointed to the House of Lords as a Liberal Democrats peer in October 2015, taking on the title of Baroness Burt of Solihull. [2]
Roles outside Westminster
Baroness Burt sought the advice of the UK prime minister's Advisory Committee on Business Appointments regarding a role as board adviser for Total Training, a construction training company. The committee advised that Baroness Burt observe a 2 year lobbying ban from her last day in office, and she took up the position in October 2015. [3]
Baroness Burt was registered as having taken on two further roles outside of Parliament on 1 January 2016:
- Board adviser for DBS Law Limited, a solicitors organisation
- Non-executive director of DBS Heart, a community interest company that provides opportunities for young people. [4]
