Benjamin Mancroft

Benjamin Mancroft, 3rd Baron Mancroft (born 16 May 1957) is a British peer, businessman and Conservative Party politician.

He joined the House of Lords in February 1988.

Business interests

Mancroft acts as 'strategic counsel' and sits on the board of the Fleurette Group, which holds Congolese mining interests and is affiliated with Israeli mining magnate Dan Gertler.[1]

In June 2014, Mancroft hosted a cocktail reception at Westminster for lawmakers and businessman for Gertler's family foundation, which aims to help rape victims.

When questioned by the Wall Street Journal about the event, the peer described himself as 'incorruptible'. ' I have nothing to sell,' he told the paper.[1]

Affiliations

  • Chairman, advisory board, Fleurette Group[2], one of the largest private companies in the DRC, which 'has invested more than $1.5 billion dollars in the acquisition and development of mining and other assets in the country'. The Fleurette Group is one of the natural resource arms of Israeli magnate Dan Gertler’s business empire.[3]
