John McClure
John McClure became centre manager for the Geo Group UK at Dungavel IRC in September 2011.[1]
In October 2015, McClure gave evidence at the inquest touching on the death of Alois Dvorzak, an 84 year old Canadian man who died in handcuffs (on 10 February 2013) at Hillingdon hospital while in the custody of Geo security guards from Harmondsworth.
McClure told the inquest jury that at the time of Dvorzak's death, ninety percent of detainees were going from Dungavel to hospital in handcuffs. Under the new risk assessment, introduced in August 2014 in light of Dvorzak's death, use of handcuffs on hospital-bound detainees fell to an average of 18%, according to McClure.[2]
