Jeffrey Vulkan (born July 1977, Glasgow) is a Glasgow based Engineer and Zionist activist.

Vulkan lives with his wife Orli (nee Schechter, born August 1976, in Cambridge) in a house in Newton Mearns, Glasgow G77 which they bought for £524,995 in January 2022. The average house price in Glasgow in 2022 was £165,800.[1]

Education

Jeffrey Vulkan studied engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University, graduating with a BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with Business (1995–2000, Grade: 2:1).[2]

He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS), holding the professional designation from CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.[2]

His secondary education was at Woodfarm High School (Glasgow).[2]

Career

Jeffrey Vulkan has built a career in procurement, supply chain management, and engineering operations, progressing from buyer roles to senior global leadership positions in manufacturing, medical devices, and life sciences.

  • March 2026 – Present (1 month as of March 2026) — Global Head of Procurement at Valneva (Full-time, Hybrid, Newton Mearns, Scotland, United Kingdom). Delighted to join the Valneva team in this exciting new role, focusing on cost-saving initiatives, contract management, and related skills.[2]

Zionist affiliations

Jeffrey Vulkan is a director of The KKL (Scotland) Charitable Trust (Scottish charity SC316740), appointed on 8 December 2024 and currently active. The trust is affiliated with the Jewish National Fund – Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (JNF-KKL), an organisation that describes itself as Zionist and is the primary land theft agency of ethnic cleansing in occupied Palestine.[3][4]

He is also a committee member/volunteer at Giffnock Newton Mearns Synagogue (GNMS), Scotland's largest Orthodox synagogue, where he participates in community governance and events.[5]

Vulkan was a joint winner of the Philip Jacobson Award for services to the Glasgow Jewish community, presented by the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council, reflecting his standing in local Jewish communal life.[6]

Philanthropic activities

Vulkan has participated in charity running, having completed the London, New York, and Paris marathons in support of children's charities.[7] His role as a trustee of the KKL (Scotland) Charitable Trust involves oversight and fundraising for environmental, educational, and development projects in Israel, consistent with the JNF-KKL's settler colonial mission.[3]

Family

Orli was born and raised in Cambridge, studied law and management and is now People and Development Manager for Malmaison and Hotel du Vin (Scotland/Northern Ireland). Glasgow born and bred, Jeff studied engineering and works as a buyer for a Japanese company which makes parts for Honda. He has run the London, New York and Paris marathons in support of children’s charities. They married at Thompson’s Lane Synagogue, Cambridge and live in Newton Mearns, Glasgow.[7]
