Friends of Habonim-Dror Va'ad L'Ma'an Habonim (Charity number SC005290) was a Scottish charity devoted to supporting the Glasgow branch of Habonim Dror, the Zionist youth group. Registered charity from 22 December 1995-Ceased date: 28 September 2016. It's formal registered name was Va'ad L'Ma'an Habonim, but it stated that it was known as Friends of Habonim Dror. when it wound up it transferred all of its resources to the Glasgow Jewish Community Trust so that it could continue to fund the youth group.

  • Registered office address: 39 Kingsford Avenue, Muirend, Glasgow G44 3EU. In 2010 Laura J. Bernstein was registered on the Electoral Roll at this address.

Object

  • To support the Youth Movement known as Habonim-Dror by fund raising and allied activities;
  • To maintain and improve the buildings, internal fixtures, fittings and furnishings thereof, the grounds appertaining thereto and the general equipment utilised by the Glasgow branch of Habonim-Dror .
  • To co-operate with other bodies having similar aims, to make contributions to such bodies provided they are established for charitable purposes only and generally to do all such acts as shall further the objects of the Habonim-Dror . Provided always that such objects be such as are by law charitable.

Friends of Habonim-Dror is an organisation set up to support the local branch of this International Zionist Youth Movement and assist in its promotion of Israel, Judaism and good citizenship. The movement caters for children from 8 years upwards and meets at Cosgrove Connections, May Terrace on Sundays at 5.15pm.[1]


In 2023 this had been altered to the following:
