Frank Roy

Frank Roy was the Labour Party member of Parliament (MP) for Motherwell and Wishaw from 1997 to 2015.

Roy lost his seat in the 2015 general election to the Scottish National Party's Marion Fellows by 11,898 votes.[1]

Parliamentary roles

He has served as Assistant Whip (HM Treasury) 2005-06, Lord Commissioner (HM Treasury) (Whip) 2006-10, and Opposition Whip (Commons) 2010-10.[2]

Visit to the United Arab Emirates

Roy was part of a 10-person parliamentary delegation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in April 2012.

The trip lasted five days and gave British parliamentarians the opportunity to meet with senior government officials and private companies in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The UAE government paid £3,500 toward Roy's travel and accommodation. [3]
