Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem Lieutenancy of Scotland is the Scottish lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a Catholic order of chivalry. It has been a registered Scottish charity, constituted as an unincorporated association, since 10 March 1994.[1] It is funded mainly by members' "oblations". It sends money through the Order's Grand Magisterium in Rome to the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.[2] Its report says it "is separate from other Lieutenancies" of the Order.[2] See also The Lieutenancy of England and Wales of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Objects and activities

The objects on the register include: "to sustain and aid the charitable, cultural and social works and institutions of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, particularly those of and in the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem"; "to support the preservation and propagation of the Faith in those lands"; and "to sustain the rights of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land".[1]

The register states: "Provide financial and spiritual support to the Christians in The Holy Land ... The charity supports education, pastoral work, medication and humanitarian needs in Israel, Occupied Palestinian Territories and Jordan where families need it most." Main operating location: "Outwith Scotland".[1]

The 2025-26 report describes an annual charity golf tournament, a retreat each March, and members' pilgrimages to the Holy Land "subject to foreign travel advice". It adds that "The repercussions from the ongoing conflict along the Gaza Strip has restricted the number of projects being carried out in the Holy Land".[2]

Trustees

The charity is unincorporated, so it has no Companies House entry. Trustees on the OSCR register, and as office-bearers in the 2025-26 accounts:[1][2]
