Emerge Education
Emerge Education is a London-based accelerator programme for education technology (edtech) startup companies.
As well as access to investors, Emerge promises to provide edtech firms with 'access to a deep pool of educators, progressive educational institutions and existing distribution platforms for live customer testing and accelerated market distribution.'
Emerge also offers office space to startups through Edspace, the 'UK’s hub for education innovation'. Tenants include two fledling school chains, educational charities as well as fast growing edtech startups.
Contents
Access to teachers
Emerge has formed a partnership with TSL Education, now known as TES Global, the massive online teachers' network, which allows its startups access to teachers to test and market products.
Access to schools
Emerge says it has built a 'community of early adopters' who are 'eager' to test edtech products.
These 'partners', according to Emerge, include '250 schools across the UK, including some of the largest academy chains'. It cites Ark and Oasis as partners.
It adds that 'mentors such as James Weatherill (co founder of Arbor) whose student information system is being used in 1 in 3 UK schools, will help navigate the process of selling to schools'.[1]
Access to international markets
Emerge states that support from 'esteemed educational institutions' can add significant credibility to your brand particularly when exporting internationally'. It cites Eton and Oxford University as partners, which have supported Emerge 'right from the first programme in 2014'.[2]
