Elliot Winocour (born 1920, Cathcart, [1], died 2009 at 88 in Eastwood and Mearns [2][3]) was a Zionist activist based in Glasgow.
His parents Myer Winocour and Pricilla Winocour (nee Robinson) were living on Bute by the 1921 Census (with Lettie (4), his younger brother Bertram came later)[4] as were two other Winocour families headed by Myer's brothers Harry and Claud: (Claud Winocour(sometimes spelt Claude in official records) and Polly Winocour] with their kids Evelyn G (0 years old) and Rebecca (3)[5] as well as Harry Winocour and Dora Winocour who by that time had no children)[6]

- 1943 - Elected as Functions Treasurer of the Glasgow Jewish Board of Guardians Auxiliary: ' GUARDIANS AUXILIARY REPEATS RECORD - The Glasgow Jewish Board of Guardians Auxiliary has repeated its record of last year, when £2,125—the highest in its 23 years' history—was handed to the parent body. This was disclosed at the annual meeting, at which Sir Maurice Bloch, J.P., Hon. President, said that the Auxiliary had given the Board a total of £22,000. Sir Maurice, who is Treasurer of the senior body, said that the war had changed, but not lessened, their problems Since 1939, they had dealt with an average of 200 new cases annually. Mr. Charles Edelman. President of the Auxiliary, appealed to young people to join its ranks. The following were elected: Sir Maurice Bloch. J.P., Hon. President; Messrs. L. Diamond, President; F. Penn, Vice-President; W. Silver and M. Wolfson. Treasurers; H. L. Bloom and S. Nutt, Secretaries; E. Winocour, Functions Treasurer; and L. Diamond. Hon. Auditor.[8]
- 1949 - March - Mr, E. Winocour AND MISS Y. DAVIDSON. The engagement is announced of Elliot Winocour, L.D.S., elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Myer Winocour, of 1, Elmwood Avenue, Newton Mearns, to Yvette, younger daughter of Mir. and Mrs. Samuel Davidson, of 43, Millbrae Road, Langside, Glasgow.[9] Married Yvette Winocour (nee Davidson) in 1949 in Glasgow.[10]
