Background

The #Digitell19 conference is the second annual conference organised by the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs. Speakers and participants convene from all over the world to strategise and share information to combat anti-Semitism and anti-Israel rhetoric online. #Digitell19 took place over three locations between 12-14 March, starting in Jerusalem which coincided with the INTV annual conference. Moving then to Mitzpe Ramon, and finaly Tel Aviv.

In 2016, the Israeli government, represented by Gilad Erdan and Ayelet Shaked, met with Facebook leaders and agreed to work with them to determine how to tackle incitement on social networks. Last year, Gilad Erdan announced the launch of 4il, which he called "Iron Dome of Truth", a reference to the highly effective missile defence system Israel uses to shoot down enemy rockets.

On 16 June 2019, at the Jerusalem Post Annual Conference, DigiTell attendees in New York were called on stage by Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan to be congratulated for DigiTell's work. The Minister congratulated Ido Daniel and Revital Yakin, in charge of the DigiTell project, as well as each member of the network.
