Vead Lehaczokas Hayehadus Beartzos Hamizrach (Committee for Preservation and Strengthening of Judaism in the Eastern Countries) is an English unincorporated charitable trust (no. 1003576), registered on 24 July 1991. The governing document is a trust deed dated 14 July 1991. The Hebrew title is a committee (va’ad) le-ḥazzakat ha-yahadut be-artzot ha-mizraḥ — to strengthen Judaism in the “eastern lands.” On the Charity Commission register the activity line is: religious charitable work for Jews in Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco, Iran, Israel and European countries including the United Kingdom.[1][2][3]
It is a small grant-maker. Income has sat between about £7,000 and £10,000 a year for two decades. It is not Lehachzikom (1176141, ~£13 million a year to Israel) and not Lehachyos (1170523, under Charity Commission inquiry).[2]
Objects
The registered objects are:
- the advancement and promotion of the Orthodox Jewish religion and Orthodox Jewish religious education;
- the relief of the aged, sick or disabled and the poor amongst Jewish people.

Geography
The register and compilers list operation in London and, overseas, Israel, Tunisia, the United States and Yemen. The activity line also names Morocco and Iran. “Eastern countries” here is the older communal phrase for Mizrahi / Maghrebi / Yemenite / Iranian Jewry, not Eastern Europe.[1][2]
No published grant schedule naming recipient institutions in those countries has been found. Year-end accounts are filed on the Commission’s “no Part B” (small-charity) basis, so individual grants are not on the public register.
