Chris Martin CB has been director general of 10 Downing Street since January 2012. He is the principal private secretary to the prime minister David Cameron MP, and director general of the Prime Minister's Office.

Martin is a former director of the Cabinet Office (National Security Secretariat), and prior to that was director, public services, at HM Treasury.
