Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) describes itself as 'the only independent, chartered professional body and registered charity with an integrated approach to environmental, social and cultural issues'.
In January 2014 CIWEM published 'an independent review of shale gas exploration and exploitation in the UK with a particular focus on the implications for the water environment'. [1] This followed up a previous report on Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking) of Shale in the UK. [2]
