- Alyson Stafford was appointed as the Director of Finance for the Scottish Executive in June 2005 and is a member of the Management Group. She was educated at Oxford University, receiving a BA and MA in Geography. She also holds two CCAB professional finance qualifications. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and her services to the public sector were recognised in 2002 when she received honorary membership of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (nominated by CIPFA Scotland). With a proven track record in the private and public sector, Alyson's career has been at the forefront of change leading strategic, operational and corporate services in the Health Service in England and Scotland as a Chief Executive as well as Director of Finance. This is her first position in central government.
