The school has close links with the nearby Yesoiday Hatorah School and Kerem Shloime schools to ensure that pupils who are dual registered at these primary schools have continuity in their learning [1]. The school was established to help the strictly Orthodox, however, increased demand from the wider Jewish population.
In 2019, BigChange was the main sponsor of the Aim Habonim Charity Bike Ride supporting special needs children in the Manchester community.[2]; The Founder and Chairman of BigChange, Martin Port, is the founder and former managing director of Masternaut UK Ltd, the expansion of French firm, Masternaut International, a telematics company specialising in fleet management and vehicle tracking services.
Notably, in October 2024, Port was part of the UJIA mission to Israel alongside community organisers from the Branco-Weiss Institute. UJIA "changes lives by investing in young people in Israel and in our Jewish community. In the under-resourced Galil region we are creating new educational and employment opportunities through schools, colleges and community projects. In the UK we underpin the crucial ladder of Jewish and Israel engagement, by supporting youth movements and organisations, schools and educational programmes in Israel."[3]
Port attended the commemoration event on October 7 2024 in Israel. On LinkedIn he wrote, "On the anniversary of October 7th, 2023, in Israel, we are reminded of the tragic events that shook a nation and claimed countless lives. Yet, as we reflect on this day, it is disheartening to witness the world's silence and how the focus has shifted from remembrance to debates over rights and wrongs. Today should be a day of unity, of honoring those lost, and standing in solidarity with those who continue to suffer. Let us not forget the importance of remembering, and may their memories be a blessing."[4].
He continues to push the Israeli line that Israel is 'defending itself' and accuses the UK government of being 'not only disgraceful but deeply misguided' over their decision to cancel arms licenses to Israel.[5]
