People
- Arthur W.H. Docters van Leeuwen, a Dutch national, has held various positions at the Dutch Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Finance. He was head of the Dutch Security Service for a number of years and president of the Dutch Council of Attorneys General, before being named chairman of the financial markets supervisory authority AFM in 1999. In 2008 he was appointed a representative of the Dutch state on Aegon’s board.[3]
- In 2004 Brian Mawhinney, then Conservative MP for North West Cambridgeshire, now a Life Peer, declared in the Register of Members’ Interests that he received between £20,001- £25,000 working as a ‘Consultant to Aegon Extraordinary Markets Inc.’[4]
- Karla M.H. Peijs, a member of Aegon’s Supervisory Board since 2007 is Queen's Commissioner for the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. She was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2003 and Minister of Transport, Public Works and Water Management in the Dutch government from 2003 to 2007. In 2008 she was appointed a representative of the Dutch state on Aegon’s board.[5]
- U.K. Life Peer Robert Smith, Lord Smith of Kelvin, is a Director of Aegon UK.[6]
