Adam Butler

Adam Butler (1931-2008) was a Conservative politician.[1]

He was the son of the leading Tory R.A. Butler.[2]


Northern Ireland

Butler served as a Minister of State in the Northern Ireland Office from 5 January 1981 to 11 September 1984.[3] When he was posted there by Margaret Thatcher, "he became her agent in the relatively liberal regime of Jim Prior, according to Andrew Roth.[4]
