Actis

Actis is a private equity group investing in emerging markets: Africa, China, India, Latin America, and South East Asia.

As of 2011, it had approximately 118 investors, including CDC (see history below).

History

Actis was originally set up by the UK government's development finance institution, the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) to attract private capital to the emerging economies of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
