The Zetland Group was previously known as Petroleum Safety Services Limited and rebranded in 2016. It was founded by its managing director Jonathan Foster in 2006.

Zetland successfully secured planning consent on behalf of Third Energy UK Gas on 27 May 2016 for the proposed Kirby Misperton shale gas site following the North Yorkshire County Council planning committee meeting held from 20-23 May 2016.[1]
