The Transatlantic Institute is "a Jewish research institute whose declared aim is no less than strengthening the ties between the United States and the countries of the European Union (the undeclared aim is to serve as a lobby)". The TTI's principal office is in Brussels, but it has opened offices in all the new entrants to the EU (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc.) and also some potential entrants (Bulgaria). At it opening gala celebration in Brussels many of the EU luminaries were present, e.g., Javier Solana. The aim of the organization is to lobby EU governments and the EU-Brussels in particular. It aims to become a the European version of AIPAC, or EIPAC.
