Teaching About Terrorism is a 2009/10 research project funded by C-SAP, one of the Higher Education Academy's subject networks. The project aims to research the extent and nature of teaching about terrorism in UK Universities, primarily in the disciplines of Sociology, Politics and Criminology[1].

Freedom of Information Request 1

The University of Liverpool does have a Code of Practice on Freedom of Speech which enables the University to withhold permission to use University premises for meetings or events if we believe the meeting or event is likely to result in an infringement of the law and we would invoke these powers, if necessary, in relation to extremist speakers. We also have established channels to the police in the event that we have concerns about potential extremism and we provide opportunities for the police to give advice and guidance on such matters to our students.[2]
