Simon Astley was the director of parliamentary relations at BAE Systems before joining engineering and construction giant Balfour Beatty in October 2010 to take up the newly created post of head of public affairs. [1]

Background

Astley worked at BAE Systems for seven years. Previously, he headed external and public affairs at the Civil Engineering Contractors Association.[2]
