Sam Nunn

Sam Augustus Nunn, Jr. (Date of birth 8th September 1938, Georgia USA) is a former US Senator.

Education

He attained an undergraduate degree in 1960 at Emory University. He then continued his studies and graduated with a law degree from Emory University’s School of Law.[1] [2]

Career/Positions Held

Nunn was elected as a Democratic Senator for Georgia in 1972. He retained this position until 1997. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) an organisation attempting to reduce the threat of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.[3]

He is known to be an informal advisor to President Barack Obama.[4]
