Sara Ann Muggeridge known as Sally (born 10 September 1949) has been Chief Executive of the Industry and Parliament Trust since 2003. [1]

Being helpful to business

Muggeridge appeared on BBC Radio 4's Start the Week programme on 13 July 2009. She argued that there is a lack of business experience amongst politicans and that more needs to be done to encourage business leaders to stand as MPs. She told the programme:

"I want to make sure that Parliament as a whole and those in it actually have a better understanding of business and how the legislation the success of the United Kingdom depends on good informed legislation. And the strength of the economy is only going to improve by having legislation that is helpful to business. We have an economy that needs to thrive and there are many evidences of legislation that really has not been thought through properly in terms of being helpful to business." [2]
