Robert Hughes (Lord Hughes of Woodside) is a life peer in the House of Lords. He became a Labour Partymember of the Lords in October 1997. [1]

Hughes was under-secretary of state for Scotland from March 1974 – July 1975, but resigned due to 'disagreements with the government's Incomes Policy.'

Lord Hughes is also currently vice-president of the British Humanist Association.
