The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) was set up at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. It is a global public-private partnership of banks, governments, NGOs and business that structures policy and regulatory initiatives for renewables, and facilitates financing for energy projects. REEEP has had a role in G8 summits and was mandated to deliver energy efficiency measures at Gleneagles, Heilligendamm and St Petersburg. [1]

REEEP states on its website: "REEEP has developed several policy networks, most notably the Renewable Energy and International Law (REIL) project in collaboration with Yale University (USA), and the Sustainable Energy Regulation Network (SERN) in collaboration with Warwick University (UK), and the Energy Efficiency Coalition." [2]

Funding

REEEP is funded by the governments of Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as the European Union. [3]
