  • 10 President Jimmy Carter announces that the US and the USSR have reached an accord on the terms of the SALT-II treaty.[1]
  • C.20 - Elmo Zumwalt and Paul Nitze appear on Meet the Press with Jake Garn. Zumwalt claims the Chiefs of Staff have "deep reservations" about the SALT II treaty.[2]
