Notes towards a chronology of the modern history of covert action with particular reference to the role of the Lovestoneite movement.

August

  • 20 - SHAEF approves OSS FAUST plan to send agents to make contact with underground labour groups in Germany.[3]
  • "Late August" - Joseph Gould recruits a number of German socialist exiles in London, in an operation that appears to have been penetrated by Soviet intelligence.[3]
