Paul Rennie is a former prison service governor who has worked for Serco on prison and immigration detention contracts in the UK and Australia.

Prison Service

From 1995 to 2007 Paul Rennie worked in the prison service at HMP Whitemoor, HMP North Sea Camp, HMP Woodhill, PSHQ and HMP Bullwood Hall. He rose to be a governor.

Serco

Business operations manager

He was a business operations manager at Serco in the UK from 2007 to September 2008. This role involved "National and International Business Operations development including new bids, implementation and transition operations."

Colnbrook IRC

He was Deputy Contract Director for Serco at Colnbrook IRC from September 2008 to April 2009. He had "Operational responsibility for the contract, including procedural, physical and dynamic security elements, business operations and organic growth opportunities."

Australia

He was a contract manager for Serco at Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre and Adelaide Immigration facility in Australia from August 2009 to May 2010. His role also included "In-country escorting for Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Overseas Escorting".

Prisoner escorting contract

Paul Rennie was Head of Custody Services for Serco in London & East of England from December 2011 to August 2013. He had "direct responsibility for 610 staff across 65 separate sites with responsibility for delivering an efficient and effective Custodial function, which meets the requirements of the Prisoner Escort Custody Services Contract in the London and East of England regions." Serco has since found evidence in those regions that prisoners had been recorded as delivered ready for court when they were not. Rennie left Serco in the same month as the Ministry of Justice began investigating a possible fraud worth up to £40m and called in detectives from City of London police.[1]

Taylormade

In August 2013 he became Business Development Director at Taylormade Security Ltd and then managing director of Taylormade Secure Solutions in November 2013, where he is "responsible for Secure Solution development in Detention, Custody and Security Operations". Taylormade is a subcontractor on Serco's prisoner escort contract.
