Martin van Creveld (b. 1946; Netherlands) is an Israeli historian and war theorist who has written 14 books about warfare, military strategy and recent conflicts. He is an advisor to the Israeli military chief of staff, and provides advice to governments around the world, e.g., the UK government on its handling of Northern Ireland. [1] [2]
