Mark Lancaster MP for Milton Keynes North

Mark Lancaster is the Conservative MP for Milton Keynes North. He was elected in 2005 and then re-elected in 2010 with a majority vote of 8,961. [1]

In September 2012 Lancaster was appointed as a Lord Commissioner of Her Majesty's Treasury. [1]

Background

Lancaster served in the army before entering into a career in politics, and was awarded his second long service medal, marking 22 years service by David Cameron in 2012. He continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Engineers. [2]

In 2001 Lancaster chose to contest the Nuneaton general election in 2001 but was unsuccessful. In 2005 however he was elected member for North East Milton Keynes. That same year he was also chosen to serve as a whip and shadow minister for international development. [1]

Following his re-election in the 2010 General Election, Lancaster was appointed as the parliamentary private secretary to the secretary of state for the Department for International Development. [2]
