The Journal 'strives for a global focus on conflict and peacemaking and encourages a wide conception of peace, but focuses on the causes of violence and conflict resolution.' [1]

The Journal which is published by Routledge publications was first released in 1964. The journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics. It's Edited at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), by an international editorial committee.
