John Leech was the Liberal Democrats member of Parliament (MP) for Manchester Withington from 2005 to 2015.[1] He was first elected in 2005 and was re-elected in May 2010 with a majority vote of 1,850. [2]

Between 2006 and 2010 Leech served as the shadow transport spokesperson. [1]

Leech lost his seat in the 2015 general election to the Labour Party's Jeff Smith by 14,873 votes.[3]
