Joachim Faber is a German banker and asset manager who has been on the board of HSBC Holdings plc since March 2012.

Career

Faber worked for 14 years at Citigroup Inc - holding positions in trading and project finance and as head of capital markets for Europe, North America and Japan. He has also been the CEO of German bank Allianz Global Investors AG and a member of the management board of Allianz SE

He joined the board of HSBC in March 2012 and is currently an independent non-executive director and chairman of the group risk committee.

He is currently an independent director of Coty Inc., a director of Allianz France SA, chairman of the shareholder committee of Joh A Benckiser SARL, on the the supervisory board of Deutsche Boerse AG, a member of the advisory board of the European School for Management and Technology and council member of the Hongkong-Europe Business Council.[1]

Education

He holds a law degree from Bonn University and has a doctorate from the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer.[1]
