The Institute for Global Dialogue is closely connected to the African National Congress The IGD is controlled by a board of directors, drawn from the public and private sectors and civil society. Its members are:

Prof Hugh Africa, former vice-chancellor of the University of Zululand (retired)

Prof Rok Ajulu, associate professor of international relations, University of the Witwatersrand

Dr Brigalia Bam, chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa

Prof John Barratt, former director of the SA Institute of International Affairs

Ms Nolitha Fakude, director: group strategy and corporate affairs of NEDCOR, and president of the Black Management Forum

Mr Henry Jeffreys, deputy editor of Beeld

Mr Iqbal Jhazbhay, research specialist and lecturer in Arabic Studies at the University of South Africa

Mr Mandla Langa, former chairperson of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)

Advocate Vusi Masinga, former academic and now an independent consultant

Mr Seth Phalatse, chairperson, retired director of BMW (SA)

Prof Maxi Schoeman, deputy chairperson, professor of international relations at the University of Pretoria

Ms Gloria Serobe, founder and executive director of Women’s Investment Portfolio Holdings (WIPHOLD)
