Ian Stewart was a Member of Parliament (MP) for the British Labour Party. He represents the constituency for Eccles. He was elected to parliament in the May 1997 General Election with a majority of 12,886 votes.[1]

Stewart did not stand for re-election in the 2010 election and left Parliament on 12 April 2010.[2]
