Hugo Swire Hugo Swire MP was appointed Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 4 September 2012.[1] The Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP Previous to this, Swire was a Minister of State at the Northern Ireland Office.[2]

History

His previous parliamentary roles have included: Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Rt Hon Theresa May MP in her role as chairman of the Conservative Party in 2003; Opposition Whip between 2003 and 2004; and Shadow Minister for the Arts between 2004 and 2005.[1] In 2005, Swire secured £30,000 from British American Tobacco for a statue of Sir Walter Raleigh in the East Devon village of East Budleigh.[3]
