Giles Radice was MP for Chester-le-Street from 1973 to 1983 and then for North Durham from 1983 to 2001. He became a Labour Party member of the House of Lords in October 2001, following his retirement from the House of Commons. He was given the title of Lord Radice when he was made a life peer in the Lords. [1]
