Eugeniusz Smolar (born 31 December 1945) - Polish journalist He studied economics at the University of Warsaw. but had to interrupt his studies in connection with his participation in the demonstrations of March 1968, protesting against the invasion of troops and the Warsaw Pact of Czechoslovakia in August 1968 [1]. In 1970 he emigrated to Sweden. He graduated from the Department of Sociology, University of Uppsala. In 1975 he worked as a journalist with the Polish Section of the BBC, in 1982 deputy director and in 1988 director of the section. He continued to work for the BBC until 1997. In 1997 he initiated the creation of Inforadio with the BBC and commercial partners (currently Tokfm). In October 2005 he was president of the Center for International Relations [2].
