In 2003 Derek Weir was Managing Director, Corporate & Commercial Banking, The Royal Bank of Scotland [1] and a member of the Board of the Scottish North American Business Council.

In 2006, Derek Weir resigned from the Royal Bank of Scotland and joined rival bank Barclays. [2] [3]
