David Roper is joint founder and executive vice-chairman of Melrose Industries with James Christopher Miller, a firm which buys out struggling business and rejuvenates them to provide better returns for shareholders. [1]

He was also registered as a donor to Vote Leave, the eurosceptic group in the UK's EU referendum of June 2016. [2]
