Dai Havard has been the Labour MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney since 2001.[1]

Havard is a former Secretary of the Welsh section of the MSF trade union.[2]

Havard was vice-chairman of the Commons Defence Select Committee until 2012, when he resigned as a result of a dispute during a visit to the Falklands.[3]
