Christian Freedom International
Christian Freedom International (CFI)
[CFI http://www.christianfreedom.org] is a not for profit organisation which campaigns for 'the rights of persecuted Christians around the world' [1]. CFI's president, Jim Jacobson, has repeatedly attacked the Islamic faith and Islamic nations for their supposedly extensive persecution of Christians. He writes 'it is virtually impossible to find a Muslim-majority nation in which Christians are not oppressed, while it is similarly hard to locate a Christian-majority state in which Muslims are victimized' [2]. The organisation came under scrutiny after it, along with Christian Solidarity International, had been accused of exacerbating the problem of slavery in Sudan by offering 'Redemption' money to Muslim slave 'owners' in return for the Christian slaves' freedom. This, it was argued, encouraged the slave trade to grow on a capitalistic basis. Jim Jacobson even referred to the trade as being 'more profitable than narcotics' [3].
