Cécile Vernant is a Senior Account Executive at public affairs firm GPlus. Prior to joining GPlus, Cécile worked for the European Commission, in the External Trade DG, with a brief to cover communications and relations with the European Parliament. She helped coordinate the Commission’s participation in the International Trade Committee of the Parliament, especially on subjects like the DDA. In that context she also assisted in the preparation of the July 2007 Ministerial Conference. Cécile worked with Commission delegations around the world as part of a team to improve DG Trade’s general communication.

Background

Previous to this, Cécile worked as the communications project manager in the U.S. for W.R. Grace, the world’s leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals and materials. She created and implemented a worldwide PR corporate communications programme centred on volunteering and sponsorship. She developed a full range of communication tools from the websites to the collaterals and the PR launch event. As far as her PR and event management experience, she also organised several events for her previous employers, such as inauguration and international trade shows in Paris and in Germany.

She also worked for Hertz, where she created and launched a new marketing product and for Prisme Communication consultancy where she managed a European communications campaign for French Federation of tourism offices.[1]
