On 4th February 1999 BTR plc and Siebe plc merged to create a leading electronics and engineering group. With its head office in London, England it operates in all regions of the world through four focused divisions. The Group's vision is to be the global leader in the automation and controls industry.
On 16th April the shareholders voted overwhelmingly to change the name to Invensys. This new name is suggestive of invention, innovation and systems - all key attributes which characterize the formation of a 12 billion group which has world class technologies providing intelligent automation and control solutions for the world.[1]
